![]() ![]() We likely won't know what the card's actual power is until they fix the bug, but it will likely be "significantly worse" after the bug fix. However, the card is currently bugged where playing a Hero card will duplicate the Dew Process card draw, so part of the card's strength is that it's preventing your opponent from effectively playing their hero card. ![]() Right now in the data Dew Process looks like a very good card, to the point that it's a good mulligan keep in multiple matchups. ![]() Jailer is terrible in Relic DH.ĭruid - 3rd most popular class due to people wanting to experiment with Dew Process. Card will likely get stronger in the event of a Hunter nerf. The Hunter matchup is the primary reason why the card doesn't look impressive overall, and ZachO says he'd likely feature it in their Relic DH list this week. Mel'tranix is not effective against Hunter, but it's very strong against Druid, Shaman, Priest, and Paladin. ZachO "takes the L" and admits he overhyped Prosecutor Mel'tranix, but as he dives into individual matchup data, he says the card is likely much better than it looks in the data right now. There's some experimentation with creating hybrid builds (Aggro Fel Relic) that also try to fit in Magistrate, but they're not good. Prior to the miniset it was close if you wanted to run Fel package or not, but now there's no reason to not run Fel. If/when Beast Hunter gets nerfed, Aggro DH will likely become a major player in the meta. It got better cards and improved as a deck in a vacuum, but the matchup against Beast Hunter (roughly a 30/70 matchup) is hurting the deck's performance. Ironically Aggro DH's performance after the patch did not get better. Both Aggro DH and Relic DH w/the Fel package look to be competitive decks. Not a good look for Rat Hunter when rats are the lowest performing part of the deck.ĭemon Hunter - A lot of experimentation going on with the class. While these decks look playable, that's only because they're also running "good" Hunter cards. There are other experiments with other Hunter decks like the Rats & Beasts Hunter decks floating around that run Shadehound to buff a wide beast board. Some experimentation with Nathanos and Tarantula in the deck. Don't cut Devourers from the deck, the card has gotten stronger after the miniset because games are going even longer now (the average game length for Beast Hunter right now is close to 9 turns). Hat goes on to say that you should play Sylvanas in the list in the deck if you play at higher ranks because of the Bless Priest matchup. ZachO initially says that Sylvanas' inclusion in the deck might be good enough to be worth running in the deck, but he’s not 100% sure and he’ll have a definitive answer on the next report. To make matters worse, you can take the existing Beast Hunter list from before the miniset and make no new changes, and it still might be the best version of the deck at certain rank brackets. Top 1K Legend is the only rank bracket where Beast Hunter doesn't look "giga broken." While Beast Hunter's winrate will relax slightly once people stop playing bad decks, it won't be enough for it to drop off as the best deck in the game. Hat likens current Hunter to Barrens Paladin in terms of class winrate, and refinement in other decks will not be enough to bring down Hunter's winrate - it needs to be addressed in the next balance changes. Hunter is sitting at a 58% class winrate, with the next closest classes hovering around the 50% mark. Even at Top Legend, the winrate is "only" 56-57%. At ranks below Diamond 5, Beast Hunter has a winrate around 60%. Hunter - Most popular class by a significant margin, mainly due to Beast Hunter being completely cracked. There won't be any balance changes before the Masters Tour, but Hat expects balance changes the week after (likely Tuesday the 11th). ![]() Hunter will absolutely need to be addressed in the next patch. Unfortunately when you release a weak miniset and flood ladder with people trying to experiment with new (but weak) decks, the best deck in the game just gets better. While the miniset did have an impact on the meta, it does appear thus far to be a weak miniset. General - Usual disclaimer about early impression podcasts things that are mentioned here can change by the time the next VS Report comes out. Next VS report should be out out this Thursday October 6th, with the next podcast coming out on the weekend. Listen to the most recent Vicious Syndicate podcast here - Īs always, glad to do these summaries, but a summary won't be able to cover everything and can miss nuances, so I highly recommend listening to their podcast as well. ![]()
